Rick,
Condolences on the passing of one of your fellow shipmates.

I noticed that Ed was registered on this system but never active. As we get older, more and more DS's are passing. I would like to have it somehow noted in a member's user profile that they have passed. Maybe an "RIP" after their username?

If we created a thread of members who have passed, maybe a member with privileges could modify their user profile?

I served with a DS2 Dubey on the Ranger from '69-'72. I can't remember his first name. The age is appropriate. I wonder if this is the same guy? Does anyone else know anything about his service?
Ron

I'm not sure where I'm going but I'm making good time!

All I can add is that Ed was a display tech when I knew him and that he was very good at it.

Edit;

We have a thread dedicated to persons who have passed. As for editing member profiles, I have nothing to add.

Very sorry to come across this information. I was Ed's sponsor when he made Chief back in 1979/1980 while we were stationed at NIPSTRAFAC NAS Key West, FL together. He was a great person in and out of uniform and had the respect and admiration of all ranks. He was the second person to salute me when I got commissioned as an LDO in 1980. RIP shipmate.
